1) Delhi departure
Start 5–6 AM to beat NCR traffic. Fill fuel before Murthal. NH44 is smooth till Panipat.
2) Murthal
Legendary dhaba strip on NH44. Iconic breakfast stop — parathas with white butter. Take the small road next to the flyover to reach the dhabas.
3) Ambala / Karnal
Optional stop. Karnal Haveli is a popular restaurant with traditional Punjabi décor and open rooftop. Good for chai and stretching legs.
4) Chandigarh
Fuel, clean restrooms, lunch stop. Try Pal Dhaba for chicken/mutton dishes. Enter Himachal Pradesh — mountain roads start from Kiratpur Sahib.
5) Bilaspur / Pandoh Dam
Stunning reservoir views. Photo stop at Pandoh Dam where the Beas River is dammed. Roads get narrower and more scenic from here.
6) Mandi
Midway town — good dinner/tea stop. Bheemu Dhaba is 3–4 km ahead of Mandi bus stand, popular with locals for fresh Rajma, Kaali Daal, and parathas.
7) Aut Tunnel / Kullu
Aut has riverside restaurants with lawn seating — excellent chai break. Kullu has plenty of restaurants on the Beas riverbank. Last main town before Manali.
